Catch the thought–provoking conversation taken from the panel discussion at the our event ‘Making a Mother’.
In April, more than 150 women attended our event at St Giles Church, Camberwell to explore a question that’s both deeply personal and publicly important: what makes a mother?
This conversation is taken from the panel discussion at the Theos event ‘Making a Mother’, which took place on April 29 2026. We heard from Theo Clarke MP, Lucy Jones, Chine McDonald, Rev Alice Watson, and Dr Madeleine Pennington.
Our conversations reminded us that while many mother share common experiences, no journey through pregnancy, birth or motherhood is ever the same. Every story is unique, and every story matters.
We’re also looking ahead to our new report, ‘Motherhood, Inside Out’, which will explore those lived experiences in greater depth, from physical realities of motherhood to the emotional, relational and spiritual changes that often accompany it.
