Rowan praised for role

The next Archbishop of Canterbury should ask difficult questions about pressing issues in society, a think tank has said.

The group, Theos, has said that whoever is chosen should continue the example of Swansea Valley-born Dr Rowan Williams.

Theos director Elizabeth Oldfield said: "We hope the next Archbishop of Canterbury will continue the good work of Rowan Williams. He has been an active voice in the public square on a range of pressing social issues, from euthanasia to the economy."
