Opposing same–sex marriage deters voters and poses questions for Kate Forbes

Less than a third of voters would back a political leader who opposed same–sex marriage, according to a poll that poses questions for Kate Forbes’s bid to be the next first minister.

Only 31 per cent of voters said politicians opposed to same–sex marriage should be allowed to hold a top government job, while 50 per cent said they should not.
